Merry Christmas!
Thanks a million to all who made our Christmas services so welcoming and memorable.
As well as celebrating for ourselves we did what a parish church should do and welcomed many neighbours in. Let us pray they will have sensed something of the reality of God coming into the world.
Carols, Crib, Midnight Mass, and then Christmas morning – all these services have grown in depth, breadth and numbers – Christmas morning, which moved into the Chancel because it was sparsely attended, is now starting to overflow.

And… I know the most high God does not live in buildings made by human hands, but still, doesn’t our church building look gorgeous at this time of year?

(And can I also draw your attention, for reference next year, to one last Roehampton Christmas joy, with thanks to Alan for the reminder – the free vintage bus service on Christmas day between Danebury Avenue and Putney Bridge)

All this is just the beginning of the the season of Christmas. We have six weeks until Candlemas to celebrate the life-giving and life-changing reality that God became one of us.
