Scams/fraud/rogue traders

This month there were 7 recorded scam/fraud/rogue trader incidents involving significant financial loss to victims. Over £12,000 in cash was taken from victims who had kept large amounts of cash at home.

Tips to stay safe

§  Do not keep large amounts of cash at home. You are unlikely to need more than £50 emergency money.

  • Ensure that you do not keep your PIN number written down and kept in the same place as your bank cards.
  • Contact your local safer neighbourhood policing team to request a free home security/safety check.
