Children are always welcome at HTR.  Morning and Evening Prayer, Sunday services, just looking around the church during the day … come on in!

If you are a parent, PLEASE don’t be self-conscious. Don’t think “oh no my kid’s making a noise” – (a) only you can hear their noise most of the time anyway (b) there is no better sound to hear in church than children!  

Everyone worships God in their own way – children need to find THEIR way – bring them in.

That said, we have some activities specifically aimed at meeting children where they are: 

• Sunday School: at the start of the 10am service, children have the option to go out to the church school and do some learning and games – they come back in for Communion and sit right up front.
• Choir Club: 3.15 – 5pm in church: some fun and games and a snack, followed by training in choral singing, aiming to help youngsters sing with excellence and joy – working towards an end of term concert.
• Sparkle, our inter-generational community centre – for more on what this is like click here. Tuesdays at 10.30.
• Coming soon: parent and toddler group, probably Mondays from 9am.
• Coming soon: Bell Club, after school, learning to ring the bells in the church tower.
• Coming soon: how else could children grow and learn and become more fully themselves by interacting with their parish church?
