In the midst of our noisy, fast-paced world, finding moments of stillness can seem impossible, and the idea of staying silent, perhaps even a little daunting. Yet, these moments are where true peace and spiritual depth reside.
This year our Lent course invites you to embark on a transformative journey through the practice of silent, listening prayer.
We will be reading the Vicar’s latest book, A Season of Silence: through forty chapters it guides the reader through the practicalities and the deeper truths of silent, listening prayer.
It has been described as “couch to 5k for silent prayer.”
We will simply read six chapters a week, and then meet every Tuesday evening in Lent at the Vicarage (7 Ponsonby Road) to discuss how we are getting on and to keep silence together. First meeting 24th Feb, or come on the 17th for introductions and pancakes.
There’s more about the book on this website.
You can buy the book wherever you normally buy books. But if you sign up for the Lent Course you can get the book at cost, for £6.50. Please email if you’re interested.
