16/11/25 Remembrance, Baptisms, White Ribbon Parade and Children’s Choir coming up

Thanks so much to all who came together, before and behind the scenes, to make our Act of Remembrance such a good occasion.
It was also very good to welcome so many from the wider community back to the Church for bacon sandwiches and sausage rolls – huge thanks for all who cooked.
This Sunday we will baptise Amelia Walker, daughter of Jack and Brooke Walker, whom many will remember from this congregation before they moved to live in Brooke’s home country, Canada.
We will also baptise Lola and Sadie, of this parish, who have been preparing for baptism and confirmation since the Summer. They will then be confirmed the following Saturday at Southwark Cathedral by Bishop Martin.
What a privilege to see three young Christians emerge from the waters of baptism a new creation!
There will be some celebratory refreshments afterwards…
Then, can I plug two events coming up in the wider community?
The White Ribbon parade to support the global movement to end male violence against women and girls is on Tuesday 25th, starting on Danebury avenue at 6.  I would love it if we could turn out and support this good event as a church, men and women both:
Later that week, 3.15 Thursday 27th is the Christmas Tree light switch on – this will be a good event as usual, but particularly enhanced this year by the singing of our own Children’s choir – do come and hear what they can do.
And if you like that … come to church on Monday Dec 1 at 5.30 and hear them sing in concert:
Let us make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
